Rommy Vargas-Bezzubikoff is President and Founder of Spanish Ad Hoc Translations LLC. She holds a Master’s degree in Spanish from Wichita State University, a Master’s degree in Education from Emporia State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina, in Peru. She was a former coordinator of the Translations Department at Wichita Public Schools, and a lecturer of Spanish at Friends University, Wichita Area Technical College, and Horace Mann Middle School, and coordinator of Family Literacy and Family Engagement programs for Wichita Public Schools. She has experience in community projects, having worked on food processing development projects in Peru, funded by United Nations for Women. She is a certified medical interpreter by the National Commission on Medical Interpreter Certification (CCHI) and a member of the Midwest Translators Association (MICATA). She is currently the Director of Interpreter Engagement and Education for Alce su Voz, community representative for the digital newspaper The Wichita Beacon, board member for NAMI Wichita, a volunteer for various community efforts, and is actively involved in the community. In her free time, she loves reading and listening to all kinds of music, enjoys visits from her children, chatting with friends and traveling, especially to Peru, to meet up with family and friends.
