Gabriela Aguilar
Graduate Research Assistant
Gabriela Aguilar is the first-generation daughter of two loving Mexican immigrant parents. She received her BA in Exercise Science with an Honors General Interdisciplinary Track and Summa Cum Laude distinction. Gabriela has earned several awards such as Wichita State University 2024 Senior Honor Recipient, College of Applied Studies Outstanding Senior, and Kansas Hispanic Education and Development Foundation Outstanding Scholar. During her time at Wichita State, she originated the first Honors in Exercise Science Departmental Honors Career and served as the Human Performance Studies Undergraduate Representative on the WSU College of Applied Studies Strategic Planning Task Force. She is a devoted research assistant for Alce su Voz and The University of Kansas School of Medicine. Her plan is centered around advocating for the health of the underserved Wichita community as a future physician associate while promoting healthy lifestyles with her background in exercise science. Gabriela can always be found drawing, cooking, sewing, embroidering, shooting photography, creating graphic designs, and watching wrestling with her family.
